You already know that Market Samurai is the awesome new product that can be used to find profitable microniche markets. But how is its first module used to find keywords to use in promoting sales to such a market?

Since Market Samurai is not yet available to everyone, I will just give you the basic procedure used, and eliminate the details. These will be thoroughly documented by the time it is released.

Basic Procedure for the Keyword Program of Market Samurai

• Like any other keyword program, you will start by entering a seed keyword. Try to start with a phrase that’s not too general. ( Or you can use Market Samurai first in order to find such a niche phrase, using a single word to start. )
• You will receive a list of about 200 keywords in return. Now you can remove the ones that are too general, or inappropriate. For example, if you are trying to market golf clubs, the keyword “golf” would be much too general. And “disco clubs” would be inappropriate.
• Your next step will be to “analyze” your revised keyword list to find out about (a) the total number of searches per day, and (b) the traffic received for each keyword phrase. Market Samurai uses the new Google Adword Traffic Estimator for the latter, which is a tool that was introduced only recently. Before it was available, actual traffic for a given keyword was anybody’s guess.
• With these two statistics at your disposal, you will now narrow down your keyword list by eliminating those that have too much competition, and those that don’t have sufficient traffic.

• When you do this final “analysis”, there are many other statistics that can be obtained at the same time. Some of these can be used to help you decide on your short list of microniche keywords. For example, if the Adwords Click Through Rate is relatively high, this would indicate that people clicking this keyword are looking to buy something.

At this point, you should be able to tell if any of your keywords have a chance of being profitable. If not, then you are barking up the wrong tree, and you should try something else.

However, if several keywords look promising, the next Market Samurai tool, SEO Competition, will show you what the top ten websites are doing to promote themselves. Knowing that will help you (a) see what’s possible for you to do to in order to outrank them, or (b) avoid the mistake of trying to beat well-established websites with higher authority … more on this module later.
